A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UCLan Cyprus and the Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients & Friends (PASYKAF) on 9th November 2023 at UCLan Cyprus University Campus. The agreement establishes a strategic framework for joint activities, fostering synergy between academia and society, with a focus on participating in joint research and innovation projects, education and training, and other activities aligned with this objective.
On behalf of UCLan Cyprus University, the MoU was signed by Mr Floros Voniatis, the CEO & Chair of the Council, and on behalf of PASYKAF, by Mr. Nikolas Filippou, the CEO of the non-profit organisation.
Mr. Nikolas Filippou, the CEO of PASYKAF, expressed his enthusiasm, stating ” PASUKAF warmly welcomes this initiative. This Agreement opens new prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two organizations. We anticipate a constructive collaboration that will bring about positive impacts in the fields of health, research, and education for the benefit of individuals with cancer experience”.
Highlighting the significance of this collaboration, Mr. Voniatis, the CEO & Chair of the Council of UCLan Cyprus, stated, “The Memorandum of Understanding between UCLan Cyprus and PASYKAF marks the beginning of a promising collaboration that seeks to combine the strengths of academia and the community for the improvement of society. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that will make a positive impact on healthcare, research, and education”.
The Rector of UCLan Cyprus, Professor Polycarpou, emphasised the importance of this collaboration by stating: “UCLan Cyprus welcomes this initiative, as the Memorandum of Understanding with PASYKAF will offer new opportunities for strengthening the cooperation between our two organisations in the fields of education, training, research and innovation as well as in other activities of mutual interest”.
