A cancer diagnosis can have unexpected impacts on a person’s daily life. Alongside other physical, psychological, and social challenges that may arise, people must also manage potential effects within their work environment.
In Cyprus, approximately 1,800 working-age people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Considering the increasing frequency of cancer diagnoses and the fact that about half of these people are of working age, employers, managers, and HR professionals must understand the experience of cancer and its impacts on each person.
PASYKAF acknowledges these needs and prioritizes human support in every workplace environment.
The program is based on 4 pillars:
- Policy Issues and Support for people with cancer experience in the workplace
- Implementation of best practices in the work environment
- Health and Well-being in the workplace
- Volunteerism Development
The program aims to:
- Support people with cancer experience and enhance their well-being in the workplace.
- Provide accurate information and guidance to employers, offering recommendations and best practices for effectively supporting employees with cancer experience and other staff members.
